My BF is taking me to see Body Worlds next weekend, he totally ROCKS!!! I have been dying to go and see this exhibition and he went and got us advance tickets to go and see it. He is just the best BF a girl could ever have!!! I am totally excited about seeing this exhibition. I have been wanting to see this for a couple of years. I actually never knew that this exhibition was in Edmonton, I only knew that it was located in Las Vegas. So when a friend mentioned to me that it was in Edmonton I knew I had to go see it.
Check out the website, it is really neat:

I had a very busy weekend. Remember my fence post that broke last year. Well I finally got around to fixing it. My parents came down for the weekend and we fixed the fence post. That was no easy task. It took 7 hours to dig the fence post out from the cement. I don’t ever want to do that again. After the fence was fixed, it was painted and then I moved onto painting the deck. I think I’m done doing all the “up keep” of my house for awhile now.
My flower garden is looking amazing. I love Lily’s and I’ve planted several different types:

I went for a mini hike yesterday in the coulee’s. My friend took me on a path that I have never ventured on before. It was a great “mini” hike, but today I am sore. I wore my runners instead of my hiking boots and today I am paying for it. My feet, legs and back hurt plus we forgot the bug spray as a result I have 35 mosquito bites!!!
We started the hike by the university and I thought I have seen most of the sites around Lethbridge. However, we climbed over this hill and the view was amazing. This is what I saw…..
You can see the train bridge in this picture. We hiked to that point. Here are some more pictures of the train bridge up close.

In the last couple years the nursing scrubs have started to change. They are becoming more trendy and stylish…they are being designed with the young nurses in mind. I love these new styles I was finding the old styles made me look old…and hey, I don’t have a problem with looking hip and trendy.
However, these new scrub pants are designed the exact same way as a pair of jeans…on the hips. Now most of you are probably thinking…what’s wrong with that? The problem is THE THONG! These young girls are wearing thongs to work, which isn’t the problem. What is the problem is that the new scrub pants are so low waisted that when you bend over you can see almost the entire thong and I’m not talking about just the top part…..I’m talking about seeing almost the entire thing. As I have observed this over and over again…I think to myself thank god you are at least wearing a thong, cuz if not I’d see the “famous” plumber’s crack. Now with the new designs the shirts are shorter so when you bend over they don’t cover that area anymore like they did in the past.
I see thong every where at work. I don’t care if you wear thongs I just don’t want to see it ALL the time. I just think it’s a bit unprofessional when your thong sticks out of your pants at work. It has gotten so bad that the nursing instructors have to give proper dress etiquette to the youngsters about the importance of not letting your thong show. Never would I have thought I would I see the day were we had to give etiquette advice on proper thong wear!

I was up in Edmonton this past weekend visiting the BF. We went to Devonian Gardens and to Sex and the City. Yes, that is right…my BF went with me to see a girlie movie. He Rocks!! However, I’m sure that somewhere down the road I will be going to some action packed guy movie.
Here are some pics from Devonian Gardens
On Monday I stop in Red Deer to pick up my best friend and her daughter. They are spending a week visiting me. She is leaving at the end of the month to head back to Africa, so this will be my last chance to spend quality time with her for awhile. We took a day trip to Waterton today, I can’t believe all the snow that is still on the mountains. Also, Cameron lake is still frozen! Hello….is it not June????
Cameron Lake in Waterton. This is one of my favorite lakes. It usually is very busy, with boats on the lake and lots of people. However, we were the only one at the lake.
I love this mountain. I am just stunned that it is still snow covered. I have another picture taken from the exact same spot last June and there was NO snow!

I’m sure everyone who knows me, knows I have a thing about germs. Some of you probably think this germ issue is because I’m a nurse, but it started many years before that. My pet peeve is when people don’t wash their hands after using the washroom!!! GROSS!!! I was in a certain store last week and I went to wash my hands and there was NO soap, just empty bottles. Oh this grossed me out so much….I just thought of all the things the employee’s dirty hands have touched and that I have touched too. I was sooooooo grossed out!
Is it too much to ask that people wash their hands after using the bathroom!!!!

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it but I got a new job with Community Care. It is a full time temporary position until March. I’m really excited about it. It is a different area of nursing that I don’t know a lot about so I’m excited about the new learning opportunities. I also like that it is full time so I don’t have to worry about picking up extra shifts for the summer and it is less shift work. I think it will mostly be days with a few weekends and evenings. Maybe now my sleep pattern can get into a regular routine.
I’ve been trying to get my nursing course completed before I start my new job. I didn’t want this course hanging over my head while I’m learning something new. I know I will feel overwhelmed at first and didn’t want to feel stressed about my class at the same time. So I have been powering through my course….I wrote 2 papers this past weekend! Who the hell does that???? Hopefully by the time I start my new job I will just have 1 paper left to compete the course.
I’m aiming to have the course done by the end of June, so I can enjoy my summer with the BF! Now that I have most of my weekends off I can spent many of them with him, instead of trying to juggle work at the same time.

I have told you about my fence in the past, how the fence post is broken and it needs to be repaired. It was temporarily fixed but the fence post is broken and I need a new one. I have called several fence companies to try and get quotes on repairing the damn thing and not one company has phoned me back. I am sooooo completely frustrated with this damn fence post.
I just don’t understand how companies can do good business if they don’t call the customers back. Or I guess they would rather do the big jobs that are going to pay more money, then the little job like mine. So it looks like I’m going to have to do it myself.
The problem is that the fence post is cemented into the ground, which is why I wanted to hire someone to do it for me. My friend suggested using a jack-hammer to get the cement out of the ground so I might give that a try. I want to replace the wood post with a metal post, only because of the 100km wind that we get here. I want to box the metal post in with wood so it looks like wooden post….that’s the part I’m not sure how to do. So before I start this project I have to figure that out. Any Suggestion???
